About: Michael Ledford
Hello, my name is Michael Ledford. Born on August 22, 1977 in Atlanta, Georgia raised in Snellville, Georgia. I lived in the same house for all my childhood where my parents still reside and the only move I made was when my sister and I changed rooms because of boredom. I have no exciting stories to tell of my childhood. Except the few broken bones and trips to the hospital. Then again, it's not many children who can say they've been to New Zealand twice by the time they are eleven years old. My parents married back on November 16, 1968 in Wellington, New Zealand, after God saw that their paths should cross on a little French island in the middle of the Pacific. It was many things that I find amazing to bring my parents together, my dad was lucky to make it into the Coast Guard just when he was about to be drafted for Vietnam. Luckily, he spent his time on an ice breaker that traveled to the Antarctic to break ice for supply ships. This also meant that one of his ports was New Zealand. It just so happens that there was a young lady that he would soon meet from that beautiful country. The rest is history as they say. I have one sister who was born about two and a half years before me in 1974.

So that brings us roughly to the present. I currently reside in Snellvile, Georgia while I save money to move out on my own. I graduated on the 11th of May. It's a strange feeling to know that my current student status has gone away, however I plan to return sometime later and recieve my masters degree. I have a job working on the backends of websites. Working in mostly my least favorite language and framework. JavaScript and ASP. However it works and I suppose that's all that matters. I hope one day to move into more of what I like to do and that is software engineering desktop applications or embedded systems. Ever since I took embedded system under Dr. Ben Bishop at UGA I have been bitten by the embedded systems bug. Now I just need some more money and equipment to continue doing that. That's the one bad thing about hardware vs. software. Usually software requires little outlay of expenses. In any case I hope this served your curiousity well.

So there you are, me in a nutshell.
